Vlasta Jalušić guest lecturer at the Princeton University
On Tuesday, 28 February, Vlasta Jalušič will hold a public lecture at the Princeton University, entitled »Gender and politics: before the break up of Yugoslavia and after it«. The lecture will give an outline of three consecutive stages in the development of gender politics in the region of former Yugoslavia and will particularly focus on those dimensions of gender and politics, i.e. gender (in)equality issues in different parts of former socialist Yugoslavia that contributed to the materialization of violence in the violent break up of Yugoslavia and helped to form a new, post-socialist environment of gender (in)equality regime.
Our colleague Jalušič is currently also a short time guest at the University of California Irvine where she lectured at the Colloquium of Schoool of Social Sciences on »Violence and power and why is it important to differentiate between them« ad led the reading group on the topic of violence.
