Birgit Sauer (head of the research team in Vienna)
Birgit Sauer is professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Vienna, Austria, and is head of the research team in Vienna for the project “Political and Media Populism: ‘Refugee Crisis’ in Slovenia and Austria”. She has published on gender, governance and democracy, gender and right-wing populism and on affective labour and state transformation. She was a member of the Executive Committee of European Consortium for Political Research. Recent publications include: Intersections and inconsistencies.
