The Police, the Media, UZI and WTC. Antiglobalism and Terrorism
This is an analysis of the relationship between anti-globalism and terrorism. The author focuses on the visit of Bush and Putin to Ljubljana and the protests at the time of their visit, the events at Genoa, and 9/11 events. He argues that the media and the police are the main instruments of supervision and punishment in post-socialist societies, Slovenian being one among these. Any potential protection against the negative effects of globalization presupposes political action on the part of every individual which, in other words, amounts to defense of democracy.
