Coordination of Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations in the Field of Asylum

In Slovenia there are numerous non-governmental organizations active in the field of asylum. For the purposes of networking, knowledge exchange and joint action, the NGOs are joint in an informal coordination, which holds regular meetings with and without authorities (Asylum sector or Directorate for internal administrative affaires of the Ministry of Interior), submits joint recommendations on the proposed changes of legislation, and acts jointly in cases of difficulties arising in the field of asylum in Slovenia. The Peace Institute, as one of the largest NGOs in Slovenia, cooperates closely with other organizations in all the most important activities in the field of asylum on the national level.
