On dimensions of populism in Maribor
Researchers of the Political and media populism: »refugee crisis« in Slovenia and Austria research project at the Faculty of Arts in Maribor.
Marko Ribać, Emanuela Fabijan and Mojca Frelih, researchers of the international project Political and media populism: »refugee crisis« in Slovenia and Austria who are conducting a research on media and political populism in both countries, presented a paper at the conference titled Words as a Battlefield: Persuasion in Contemporary Political and Media Discourse, which was organised on the 5th and 6th April of this year by the Department for English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts in Maribor.

In a conference paper titled “Antagonistic populisms – responses to the refugee crisis (2015-2018) in Slovenia” they presented general theoretical examinations of studies of populism, some definitions of populism and first empirical findings on political, legal, activist dimensions of responses to »the refugee crisis” of 2015 and 2016 in Slovenia.
