Discursive Regularity in the Rhetoric of the Anti-Gender Movement

At the conference “Radical Europe: Violence, Emancipation & Reaction,” held July 3-6, 2024, in Lyon, Mojca Pajnik presented a paper co-authored with Roman Kuhar and Rok Smrdelj titled “Gender Ideology as a Frame Repertoire: Transversal Instrumentalization of Gender Equality.” The presentation focused on the discursive structural regularity in the speeches of anti-gender mobilization actors, who instrumentalize gender equality and perpetuate a regressive, ethno-nationalist, and racist vision of the present and future. The paper was part of the panel “Doing Feminism in Times of Global Anti-Gender Mobilizations,” organized by Susi Meret, the scientific coordinator of the Horizon 2020 Fierce project, in which the Peace Institute and the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts are partners. The conference was organized by Science Pro Lyon & Université Lyon 2.
