Reading Cultures in the Newly Established Publishing Conditions: Empirical Findings, Analysis of Situation, and Proposals for the Develpoment of Publishing Policies
The goal of this research is to show, based on empirical evidence, to what extent publishing that is a subject of market rules, fulfils the need for books viewed as objects of national importance. At the same time we are going to analyse the strategies of non-profit and subsidised publishing programmes. Finally, we are going to compare these findings with distribution patterns and reading popularity, especially in connection to purchase and perusal in public libraries.
