This website was established in 2012 within a project »The Erased – Remedying Human Rights Violations«, supported by Open Society Foundations – Human Rights and Governance Programme. It is designed as a permanent website aimed at assisting the erased residents in regulating their legal status and at raising of awareness of the public on the erasure and the status of remedying the violations.
The contents of this site are prepared by staff members of the Peace Institute which is engaged on the issue of erasure for more than ten years. Our goal is for the website to contain correct information and we are grateful if you let us know about any unintended errors. Also, we could not locate who were the authors of some of the photographs in the Gallery. Please let us know if you are the author.
This website is multilingual, i.e. it is published in Slovenian, English, and in Bosnian / Croatian / Serbian language (BHS). We translate most of the materials ourselves and with the assistance of volunteers to whom we are grateful for their assistance.
The website is continuously up-dated. You are invited to send us interesting photos related to the erasure and important documents that can shed light on the erasure.
We would like to thank the following people from the media organisations in Slovenia who have generously assisted in our efforts to establish media archive on the erased: Aleksander Lavrenčič, Head of Archives of TV Slovenia, Bojan Štefančič, Head of Archives of Delo, Sonja Car from Archives of Večer, Irena Brejc from Archives of Dnevnik, and Borut Mekina from Mladina, as well as to students Teja Žerdin and Neža Hvale.
